Great recipe to play around with, thank you! I boiled chicken breast and used that stock plus put Sazon seasoning on both the chicken once shredded and in the broth, mixed hot Hungarian paprika, ancho Chile pepper powder, and chili powder in lieu of just chili.. used smoked sea salt instead of kosher, used a 9.5 x 13.5 pan and added a layer of stone ground organic corn tortillas, then spinach, then the mix, and repeated again. Topped with Mexican cheese and crumbled siete lime tortilla chips, baked for 35ish min and broiled for 4 more or less.

Once the chicken is flipped over, add 3/4 cup of chicken broth to the pan and cover with a lid. This will keep the chicken moist while cooking it fast. Cook the chicken for another 7-10 minutes. Chicken thighs will require a little more time than chicken breasts. You can also use an instant read thermometer to ensure your chicken is cooked through (to 165 degrees Fahrenheit).

Shredded chicken is great for weekly meal prep. You can shred several chicken breasts on a Sunday, store them in a container and have healthy meals throughout the week. It will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge and up to 2 months in the freezer.

One note of caution: watch out for flying chicken breasts! I loaded up the mixer bowl, turned it on low and stood back to watch. Imagine my surprise when one of the chicken breasts flew out of the mixing bowl and onto the floor! Needless to say, the dogs were thrilled.

Step 3: finish shredding all of your chicken breast, use it in your favorite recipe, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for later, or see below for instructions on freezing!

With two forks: take your warm, cooked chicken breast and place it on a sturdy cutting board. Place two forks at the center of the breast and pull the chicken apart into pieces. Continue with step 2 and shred the chicken into smaller and smaller pieces until you have the desired sized shreds.

With a hand mixer: place your cooked chicken breast or thighs in a deep bowl. Use a hand mixer on low speed to carefully break apart the chicken into shreds. You may need to shred larger pieces apart as you go to get nice, even shreds of chicken.

With a stand mixer: Place your cooked chicken in the bowl of a stand mixer. Use the paddle attachment, turn the stand mixer on low, and let the stand mixer shred all of your chicken breast or thighs. This should only take around 15-20 seconds.

I had 4 boneless chicken breasts to shred and was not looking forward in using the two fork method so when I came across your suggestions I went ahead and used my stand mixer and I was so impressed how amazing it worked! Thank you so much for the great tip

Thank you for sharing these useful suggestions, Monique! Shredded chicken, also known as pulled chicken, is a culinary classic everyone should learn to make. This is because shredded chicken is utilized in a variety of dishes, ranging from salads to appetizers to main entrees. Although boneless skinless chicken thighs are preferable, boneless skinless chicken breasts can also be used.

When I redesigned my site, I even made sure that the shredded chicken recipes had their own category. (You can always find them by clicking on Shredded Chicken in the ingredient drop down at the top of the site.)

So this one is a tricky one for me. I love the texture of baked chicken, but I also feel like this one is the hardest to get right. The chicken can go from rare to overcooked in the blink of an eye so you really have to keep your eye on this one. Plus, the edges will sometimes dry out more than the thicker middle, which makes it harder to shred.

Our last method is poaching the chicken, or boiling it. When I first started making shredded chicken for recipes, this is what I would do. It was just my husband and I, and this was an easy, fast way to make enough chicken for the two of us.

This is the ultimate dinner time saver! This guide shows you 5 different ways to cook boneless, skinless chicken breasts to make shredded chicken to use in other recipes. How to make baked chicken, grilled chicken, Instant Pot chicken, slow cooker chicken, and poached chicken.

This crock pot recipe was so easy to follow. I used water, sea salt and black pepper using 2 chicken breasts. After it was cooked and shredded I added some sweet & zesty bbq sauce and let it simmer. Delicious!

I love your recipes! Trying the instant pot method for the shredded chicken. In the explanation of methods at the beginning of your post, you state 10 minutes, but in the recipe section, you state 8 minutes. Which is it?

Cut a square (or rectangle) of parchment paper, about 2 inches larger than the pan all around. Fold the sides up 2 inches to make an open box shape. Spray the open box side of the parchment paper with non-stick spray, or coat with butter. Turn over and place over chicken, tucking the parchment paper box sides inside the dish.

We do this quite regularly ourselves is a big time saver. I like to cut the chicken breasts into chunks first, that way when shredded you get shorter pieces and do not have long strings that can be hard for little ones (ok or adults) to handle.

Adding your favorite spices, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika or Italian seasoning, can give your shredded chicken extra flavor in your mealtime endeavors. Follow these simple steps to make a quick, delicious meal using your preferred method of cooking chicken and favorite spices.

A food processor will cut, instead of pulling apart the chicken which is a different technique. However, if you go slowly, you may be able to get a similar result. Add the chicken to your food processor and pulse the machine to the consistency you desire. The slicer blade is sharp, so pulse gently to avoid ending up with minced or crumbled chicken.

Using a stand mixer is a fast way to get perfectly shredded chicken each time. Simply shred the cooked chicken on low speed for about 30 to 60 seconds, until you get finely shredded pieces. You can also adjust the speed or time to achieve different sizes according to your preference.

Before your next chicken meal, learn how to shred chicken fast with a KitchenAid stand mixer to incorporate this delicious addition in a variety of recipes, including tacos, chicken chili or shredded barbecue.

Shredding warm chicken with a stand mixer is better, as the meat can become firmer and more difficult to shred as it cools. To ensure the chicken separates more easily, let the meat cool for only a minute or two before shredding with the mixer.

Using a blender to shred chicken is not recommended. The sharp blades of your blender will cut through the meat instead of pulling it apart for the desired shredded effect. A blender will finely chop or even puree the meat instead of shredding it.

Freezing shredded chicken for later can help streamline certain recipes like chicken soups or you can warm it up for a sandwich or fresh salad. Follow these tips and tricks for how to prep healthy meals to expand the variety of dishes you prepare each week and get recipe ideas. 041b061a72
