From the DEC Chair's Desk
Updated: Sep 11
This week I was honored to make the Democratic case at the Capital Tiger Bay Club vs. the Leon County GOP chair at a public debate ahead of 2024 elections — where local Democrats look to make significant gains and defend against Republican incursions into our local government.
On issue after issue, I made a strong Democratic argument for why:
Floridians must act to protect abortion rights against Republican attacks,
North Florida's Black Congressional district, previously represented by U.S. Rep. Al Lawson, must be restored by the Legislature, and
"Moms For Liberty"-aligned School Board policies are wrong for Leon County — and why Democrats must protect public education from their Far Right influence.
As your local Democratic Party's elected Chair, I'll make sure our party is doing that week in and week out.
