Leon Democrats Launch First Website
Saturday, February 11, 2006
TALLAHASSEE, FL—As one of many recent
initiatives to galvanize local Democrats, Leon
County Democratic Executive Committee Chair
Rick Minor announced the launch of the first
local party website, www.LeonDems.com.
“After only two short months, I’m proud to announce that, for the first time, local Democrats have their own website: www.LeonDems.com,” said Chair Minor. “Launching our own website shows our professionalism to local voters, in addition to demonstrating our commitment to our candidates and Democratic principles.”
The creation of a local party website was
immediately embraced by local Democrats and was
one of the key components of Minor’s recent
campaign for Chair. For the first
time, Democrats in Leon County can go online to
get information about upcoming events,
candidate appearances, and membership
information. The website also features a
photo gallery, press releases and daily updated
news articles.
“Up-to-date information about Leon
Democrats is now available to voters 24 hours a
day,” said Leon DEC Vice Chair Monica
O’Neal.
“We are quickly on the path to building
a stronger and more vibrant Democratic Party in
Leon County.”
In
the coming weeks, other features such as an
online contribution page and a historical
archive of local area Democratic politics will
be added.
“It’s exciting to see how much progress
we have made since the beginning of the year,”
said Leon DEC member Ted Judd. “With
each passing day, Leon County Democrats are
more unified, organized and focused on the
grassroots efforts that will lead us to
victory.”
