The
Leon County DEC is sponsoring a tent at
Tallahassee's Celebrate
America event on Saturday, July 4 in Tom Brown
Park. Volunteers are needed to staff
the tent and distribute materials. And even if
you can't volunteer, please drop to say hello
if at the event.
This 4th of July event has become a Tallahassee tradition and a wonderful opportunity to show the Democratic Party flag, so to speak. Our tent will be near the tent of the Leon County Supervisor of Elections where staff and volunteers will be registering new voters.
A few steps away, material explaining why all voters should support Democrats will be available at out tent.
The park is at 400 Easterwood Drive, off Capital Circle NE and Doyle Connor Boulevard. Activities begin at 5:45 p.m. There will be a ceremony to swear in new citizens at 6 p.m. and the evening be capped off with fireworks.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Communications Chair Robert Douglas, (850) 345-8211.)
