Reading names of Fallen Soldiers at the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall
Where
Lake Ella, Tallahassee, Florida 32303
When
Nov 7, 2008
7:00 am - 9:00 pm
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall
is coming to Tallahassee this November 7th
through the 11th at Lake Ella. During
this time, local volunteers will be working in
20 minute intervals to read the
names of fallen American soldiers. This year,
the Wall's sponsors have allocated
time to read not only the names of servicemen
and servicewomen killed in
Vietnam, but also those killed in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
To pay respect to the soldiers who given their lives in service to this country, the Leon County Democratic Party will be responsible for an entire day of reading names -- on Friday, November 7th. This is quite an honor bestowed upon us by the Wall's sponsors, and we hope you'll be able to participate. I read names when the wall came to Tallahassee a couple of years ago and it was an unforgettable experience. If you have time on Friday, I hope you'll volunteer to be a reader.
Please choose at least one timeslot below (or a range when you're available) and send your name, preferred phone number, and email address to Brian Lupiani at brianlupiani@yahoo.com. Brian will be managing the sign-ups and will work with you to confirm a time. You're free to read for mulitple timeslots, but they cannot be consecutive. (The 9am-5pm slots will be most difficult to fill, so if you're available during business hours, please choose from among those times.)
Available reading timeslots for Friday, November 7th, 2008:
Please let Brian (brianlupiani@yahoo.com) know if you have any questions.
Thank you very much,
